Comprehensive, smooth-functioning and adaptable software that is largely free from human intervention is vital for a rapidly growing and innovative MFI like CASHPOR. It is all the more essential to supply punctually accurate financial data and other vital information required for the incentive management, which spurs our growth.
The company was working with a software for which we had to depend on systems
engineers from Grameen Communication, an arm of Grameen Bank,
Bangladesh, for maintenance and adaptation, until one of our
own software engineer, Nirmal Gupta, developed a new software
that tracks financial transactions in both the conventional
GB approach and the new unit approach with partnership funding
and having Accounts as a sub-routine. We have named the new
software as TRAccount, and have put it in use, after successful field trials, in all the districts.
In
2004-05, we tested the V-SAT communication system, and found it suitable for our needs. Most of the district
offices have a V-SAT linked with the Head Office of
the company in Varanasi.
The
remaining district Offices will also be connected with the shortly.
It will not only enable a reliable intranet, independent of
land line and mobile based internet services.
ICT is
used to track the financial transactions with the clients in
their villages, through TRAccount software, and to send the database weekly from the district offices to Head
Office.
